New at Les Cabanes des Grands Lacs

Nestled in an area of 150 hectares, in Chassey-lès-Montbozon in Bourgogne Franche-Comté, Les Cabanes des Grands Lacs have just inaugurated four new cabins in June 2024, bringing the total number of refuges in the heart of nature to 29. Designed in collaboration with The architecture firm AW2, these huts on stilts embody a bioclimatic, sustainable and environmentally friendly approach. This first association with AW2 marks a new stage for Coucoo Cabanes, in perfect harmony with their values: preserve biodiversity and promote harmonious interaction between man and nature.

Architecture inspired by nature

The new cabins, designed by AW2, are a tribute to nature, designed to blend in with their environment. Their design is reminiscent of a bud about to hatch, with interior spaces that are still protected but open to the surrounding landscape.

Built on three levels, they offer a unique experience of immersion in nature. The first level has a large terrace, ideal for enjoying the view of the lake, while staying away from the elements. On the upper floor, the bedroom is bathed in light thanks to the through bay windows, offering natural ventilation and breathtaking panoramas. Finally, the roof terrace crowns the whole with a heated Nordic bath, suspended above the trees, for an ultimate relaxing experience in the middle of the peaks.

Local and eco-responsible construction

These huts were custom-made by the company MCF Bois, located in Jura. The wood used, mainly Douglas fir, comes from local sawmills, less than 30 km from the workshop. Thanks to a modular and off-site construction method, the majority of the work was carried out in the workshop, thus reducing on-site interventions to only four days. This made it possible to limit the impact on biodiversity and the fragile environment that surround the huts as much as possible.

The wooden furniture, designed by AW2 and manufactured by MCF Bois, fits perfectly with the refined architecture of the huts. Each element, from the central bed to the arched wooden benches, has been designed to optimize space and offer a continuous visual connection with nature.

A decoration signed by French artisans

For the interior design, we used committed French brands. Bedding is provided by Tediber, the felted wool curtains by Window Paris, and the furniture by Tikamoon. Craftsmen like Miroko have created custom pieces, such as the breakfast tray or the mirror. Everything has been designed to offer a warm and responsible environment, in line with the Coucoo Cabanes commitments.

A timeless getaway

The four new huts, named Mist, Australe, Roseau and Immersion, can accommodate two adults and one child up to 12 years. Here, the program is simple: reconnect with nature. Whether it's during a cozy night at the water's edge, enjoying a packed lunch of local products, or relaxing in your Nordic bath perched 7 meters high, every moment is an invitation to slow down and enjoy the moment.

Without wifi or network, these cabins are a real haven of peace for guaranteed disconnection...
